Pipeline Construction and Inspection
I have designed cathodic protection (CP) systems for onshore facilities and digital pipeline networks, which include surveying ground conditions and identifying potential sources of CP interference. My responsibilities have encompassed multiple pump and substation facilities, fully automated delivery systems, a marine terminal, and an LPG terminal.
Key achievements include:
- Development of electrical design systems ensuring compliance with Electrical Codes (NEC, IEC, CSA) and area classifications, including ABS-certified areas.
- Design of auxiliary AC and DC power systems.
- Conducting power system protection studies and calculations for feeders, buses, transformers, motors, generators, transmission lines, and grounding systems.
- Performing Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for relay protection systems.
- Providing on-site startup support, troubleshooting, and maintenance, including downloading/uploading relay settings, analyzing event reports, and modifying settings.
- Programming relay protection and control logic with input/output configurations (e.g., SEL-Mirrored Bits, Remote Bits, Virtual Bits) for high-voltage substation applications using SEL, GE, and ABB equipment.
This experience underscores my expertise in ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of critical infrastructure projects.

PE Engineer of Record at Bilfinger, Deer Park, Texas
As the PE Engineer of Record at Bilfinger, I have managed a range of projects, including the HAL project, which involves steel structures up to 200 feet tall and angled at 90 degrees, as well as digital pipeline projects for BHP and ConocoPhillips in the Eagle Ford and Bakken regions. Additionally, I have overseen upgrades for Summit Midstream and Enbridge digital pipeline projects, as well as the EPP Pipeline metering project phases I and II, utilizing OMNI Flow computers and advanced instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
- Developed electrical design systems ensuring compliance with electrical code applications (NEC, IEC, CSA) and area classifications, including Class 1, Div. 1 and 2, and other certified areas such as ABS.
- Designed auxiliary AC and DC power systems, conducted power system protection studies, and calculated protection settings for feeders, buses, transformers, motors, generators, transmission lines, and grounding systems.
- Conducted Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for relay protection systems, providing on-site startup and troubleshooting support, which included downloading/uploading relay settings, analyzing relay event reports, and modifying settings as needed.
- Programmed relay protection and control logic, utilizing input/output configurations such as SEL-Mirrored Bits, Remote Bits, Virtual Bits, as well as equipment from SEL, GE, and ABB for high-voltage substation applications.
- Designed cathodic protection (CP) systems for onshore facilities and digital pipeline networks, including ground condition surveys and identifying potential sources of CP interference.
- Managed multiple fully automated pump and substation delivery facilities, including a marine terminal and an LPG terminal, with extensive experience in dredging pipelines for gas and liquid products.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of current engineering principles and practices related to the design and construction of onshore and offshore pipelines, including compression, regulation, and metering designs.
- Prepared project bid packages and conducted technical reviews of bids.
- Developed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and INTOOLS, ensuring compliance with CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195, and ASME/ANSI B31.4 and B31.8 codes and regulations.
- Maintained compliance with FERC, USCG, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
- Performed routine maintenance on pipeline RTU electronic and control equipment at associated compressor stations, recommending remedial actions as necessary.
